Rex Madden

Managing Director/COO

Rex draws on more than 16 years of technical and managerial experience to mold Cyrus Innovation to serve its clients and development teams with maximum effectiveness. Instinctively he finds efficiencies in organizations by building on their strengths and implementing best practices. He translates his knowledge of Agile development to running the entire company.

"Agile development principles also apply to our culture and operations," says Rex. "My goal is to help our people do the best job possible. We hire really smart developers. We give them what they tell us they need, and get out of the way. The same is true for all other areas of the company."

Rex's background lends itself to his role as Cyrus's COO. He fine-tuned his expertise in Extreme Programming and Test-Driven Development over 16 years. Prior to joining Cyrus in 2003, he helped start several businesses, including Fetch-a-Flick, Simply Prepaid, and microCreditCard. As both part owner and lead developer on these ventures, Rex learned how to focus on the customer first and build only what was necessary to increase revenues or cut costs.

This background enables Rex to anticipate many of the needs and stumbling blocks Cyrus developers and internal staff can run into. As an executive, he is able to empathize with the client. Cyrus clients and staff all turn to him for impartial advice.

He began his career at American Management Systems, a billion-dollar IT consulting firm. Rex graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Labor Relations.
